wow i am so good! today we had a band concert during school. our concert was with band and choir. i was getting so so so so so so nervous after our band played because even though the choir was singing now jazz band was coming up. i was very nervous because i have a solo and we were playing for the whole seventh grade and i didn’t want to mess up. finally ms. almazan, our band teacher, called up jazz band. i walked up and then we started playing. once we started playing i felt a bit better. and then way too quickly, my solo was up. i started to play and i felt that i could do it so i played the best i could. and…….
THE CROWD STARTED CLAPPING AND YELLING! i was like “wow! i did it!!!!!” it was so great. then after that song everybody started to cheer and ms. almazan said, “and i forgot to mention but, our soloist was priya thomas!” then some people gave me a standing ovation and they clapped and cheered all over again. it was so great. after that i played my best through all of my songs. jazz band did great!
then after our little concert i was walking into the band room and people start giving me high-fives, and a bunch of hugs. sky comes up to me and tells me how well i did and how she was so proud of me. i felt so great. all this because of one solo! i got more compliments as we traveled down the hall and more hugs. and as i said I am soooooooo good! ;)
(OH! and my birthday is tomorrow! YAY!)

Dearest, I am SO SO proud of you!! I knew you were awesome but I didn’t realize HOW awesome until I saw that you were given a solo at your band concert! That’s a pretty big deal, my friend. For your director to trust you with that? I’m impressed
I just wish I could’ve seen and heard it for myself…
